ASUS K61IC screen flash / display corruption

I bought my Asus K61IC laptop on December 1, 2009. Recently I began experiencing peak flickering and display corruption. It is most severe when I have the laptop on battery power, only it likewise occurs when plugged in, albeit less frequently. Sometimes the flicker doesn't surface at all, and sometimes it happens every second for minutes at once . A few eras the screen went completely black for 15-20 seconds. Also, occasionally there is display corruption in which horizontal and vertical lines appear on the screen while it flickers. My guess is that this is either a GPU specific or general overheating issue or plausibly just a shorted cable between the motherboard or dedicated graphics paper and the display. I've saved a similar video detailing this issue beside the same laptop here: goo.gl On Amazon this emptor mentions it as well: goo.gl And here on the ASUS forums there is some discussion, apparently flashing the bios to actual release doesn't fix the problem: gunk.gl It appears this is not an isolated thing and might be a sign of a hardware fault with the K61IC. I'm going to contant ASUS to RMA it, thank god I have a 24mo warranty. Arghhhh technology!!!!
