I poverty to info and install Ubuntu on my HP Recovery Partition...?

I got the UNIX OS Ubuntu version 9.10. I have a H.P. Pavilion dv6730ei and it comes with a 11GB Recovery Partition.
I'm thinking about formatting this partition and installing Ubuntu there so I can have it aboard my Vista on the main screen. I've already made the Recovery Discs that HP advises, truthful I'm guessing that if anything should go wrong I could use those provided anything should happen.

Is it safe all for ME to remove this partition and install Ubuntu there without any stresses?
