Laptop shut off within the innermost of use and no light on AC power cord?

My laptop rotated off while I was using it. The screen went dark and the power light and all other lights rotated off suddenly. It won't return on at all. When I jolt the power button it merely does nothing.
The battery needed to be replaced, so I was running it bad of AC power most of the time.
The AC power cord/charger light does not light risen once it's plugged within, so I am guessing it's not working. I'm sure there was no power wave when it happened.
I took out the battery and dump it back within and all of that stuff.
Could it metal that I just need a new command cable or is it a more massive problem?
Also when I push the key on the battery all 5 lights light up.
