Inspiron 1545 laptop does not have a built-in HDMI connection. You want an external VGA to HDMI converter to connect your laptop to the monitor. I suggest you to purchase this from a local electronics store. For audio you would need 3.5mm Mini Plug to RCA cable. Hope it helps.
