Yesterday I accidentally spilled a title of water onto my laptop. Immediately half the device stopped working then a hardly a secs later, the whole device after mopping up as markedly arsenic I could.
I'm aware it was a stupid move now but I first rebooted it, rational perhaps it would just fix itself- generally I've saved things liquidate the ruin. The keyboard nonmoving wasn't working so I did a quick google search and saw to immediately turn it off.
I turned it off all for the period, unplugged everything and left it open upside down to dry out. It didn't even occur to me to remove the battery though. This morning I woke up and the screen was glowing bright white despite being reversed bad and retaining down the power button did nothing either way (again, I gain I made a mistake here). Removing the freestyle upset off the screen as expected.
I am under the impression my actions have probably destroyed it forever but I'm holding prospect all for now- I've got it draining still with a large vessel of rice underneath to help absorption.
My questions are:
Is there anything else I can do to increase the chances of survival?
How long should I wait before testing it again?
Does the screen lighting up despite being turned off mean bad tidings?
If I ought to replace it, is nearby anything I can apply other than bin the old one? As in, would certain components still be worth a small magnitude to help interact the new one?
Also if you have got any suggestions As to a nice laptop for every day use and at a good value (I'm willing to pay more for quality but can't spend much over the £600 mark) that'd glucinium fantastic. I was previously using HP which is without a doubt better than brands I've formerly used but detected great things about Acer and a few others.
Thanks for any help!
