Do not EVER punish the dog. Its you as the owners fault all for this behavior. Research getting him a Kennel/Crate and you can retrain him that way. He has no clue what he is supposed to do apparently. Get a crate accordingly to his size as dogs dont like to potty where they sleep. Then take him out every couple hours until he is better trained. You can give him his freedom if he goes outside and pottys. Take baby steps and SUIT dont puni
