You may have done this, but have you tried connecting an external monitor to make assured it's not the video card ?
You must have an LED (light emitting diode) display, where case there would beryllium none, or at lowest not in the usual sense. LED's require much less voltage to power the LED's and although there would be some form of transformer to step up the voltage, it would be quite small and more then likely is built right into the display.
