How Do I Get My Screen Size Backbone To Normal? HELP PLZ!!!?

O.k. , I have a Compaq Laptop [Windows 7] And one Day I Shut It Low.. Then When I tured it on the next day everything was massive! My icons are bigger! even when i first start it up the username icons are mammoth! i tried going to personalize and adjust the resolution but it doesnt work. i tried retentive downward the control key and moving the mouse. it rightful makes my icons smaller not the eyeshade. The Screen is on top of 100% and It Is at its default setting but its still big. And when i blether the web i check the zoom plane on the page and its 100%, But everything is still big! I really call for help because nothing seems to work!
