My laptop screen is broken from the hinge.?

my laptops joint has a wire within it and i think its broken because a little less than partly my screen isn't working (completely black with some flag in it to) does any1 know how to take the top of the laptop of the hinge to fix the wire? if hence how do u fix the cable also?ha ha..
