Worried about laptop fan noise/temperature once playing games?

I of late purchased a Dell N5110 laptop next to an i7 processor and a nVidia GeForce GT 525M graphics card. When playing games, like Skyrim OR Command and Conquer Cherry Alert 3, the fan on the gone side of the laptop gets loud and emits hot air. It sounds worrying. Is this normal? Safe?
