No, definitely not. As long as it's of the same voltage, and can at tiniest ignitor the amperage/wattage of the unproved power supply, it will work. If it's a 100 watt unit, it's merely overspecced, and will run cool as the PC will never be competent to draw down anyplace close to As much power as it can deliver.
Also, if you can accept inferior quality units that may only end a year or 2, try Ebay and Dealextreme. Universals should cost $20-30 if Chinese generics.
@Revanu: Partially correct, just universals have a switch that lets a user select the proper voltage output all for the fixed mechanism. So, no fireworks.
