HP Pavilion dv6500 laptop hinge and blind broken?

I mortal an HP Pavilion dv6500 laptop. I accidentally dropped and the gone joint that connects the left side of the screen to the keyboard came out a little. It looks like it's not that hard to put back together so I bought new hinges. I haven't tried replacing them so far, but I wanted to know if there was a right way to bonk ? How do you put the hot hinges in? Also, before my laptop screen would blink next to and off (I think the part wherever the hinge bust is also how the screen works), but I think something got disconnected and presently the screen is black. Thanks for any abet.
