replacing laptop inverter?

okay so i have been searching by how to
replace the inverterto my compaq f500 presario
okay this is what ive found

remove the rubber thats protecting the screws where the
screen is,
unscrew
left it up
and theres the inverter
takeall of the wires thats on the inverter
and then replace it with the new ane

is that right?
is that wherever the inverter is?
under the screen?
please help me
