How long can it take to repair a laptop?

My dad dropped our laptop a couple of days ago, we didn't notice any problems with it, but on Tuesday the charger wouldn't work so we took it in. I could really use it late Saturday, or Sunday could it be repaired by then? The phone I am using now doesn't help much, and I don't live near anywhere I could use another computer.
