Right arrow key knob doesnt work but does on the on screen upright why?

When I pinch the right arrow button on my laptop keyboard nothing happens but once I bring conscious the on screen keyboard and click the right arrow button thats by the eyeshade it works. Does that mean its a hardware problem or what?
