What *IS* wrong with it? Who knows.
What *COULD* be wrong with it? Fine, it might need a new LCD panel, or it might need a new eyeshade inverter, or it might need a sunrise motherboard if the video chipset is damaged, or it might need clean RAM since the system shares Ram with the video chipset, or it might be a damaged LCD sheet screen cable. It might even be a problem that has nothing to do with the screen itself.
What it *IS* yet, is time to bring on the laptop to a computer repair shop.
