HP G60 screen keeps going gloomy

I have an HP G60 and the screen keeps going dim…but when I close and open it it comes back up for a few seconds or so..I've tried fn + f8 but it does not help and I've tried adjusting the power plan when it gives me beyond ten seconds to fulfil so…please help! [...]
