how can i fix my gateway laptop's charger port?

on my laptop, the situation where you put the charger in, is loose and it will not agree to my charger charge! my warhorse works dead so what do i do? do i someone to take it to best buy or some computer place and get it fixed or can i prepare it myself or what? please help!
