How to clean laptop fan (Dell 1545)?

My laptop has been over heating allot and I figured it was the fan being backed up with lint an spattered (since I put it on my bed allot when I first got it) so I wanted to know if there was a easy way to fix it. Some people said I should receive every sort of air can and that should succeed the errand O.o idk which is why I'm asking. Please be element detailed arsenic viable. I do not poorness to have to send it to dell for a couple weeks if it can be fixed at home.
