A/V Set not deed sound summon from HD TV?

I have a laptop with BluRay player and HDMI output. My TV set is HD and accepts HDMI input. My idiot box is connected to A/V Receiver (No HDMI input/output) with Optical cable to to send audio signals to receiver from TV. Once I play BluRay disks on my laptop, my tv receives audio+video signal next to no problem thru HDMI cablegram. However, the audio signal isn't being received by the AV Receiver. Aural for Satellite broadcasting works fine. But, when BluRay players sends HDMI signals to TV set, it appears that the Ab Addressee having problem with the HDMI signal. Any idea? Thanks.
