I purchased this laptop a few weeks past. From about day 2 it started next to this random beeping echo. It doesn't seem to be upcoming from the speakers and it happens messily. It used to just happen belatedly at night so I figured maybe it was AN overheating object from using it all year but now it happens oldest thing within the morning when the personal has been in sleep mode all night. I'm currently trying to solve the problem. If anyone else has a similar feature it would be good to hear from you. PROBLEM SOLVED: Yes, I finally figured out a couple of months ago what HP couldn't. It was the hard thrust. I ended up effort a replacement and have not had a nuisance since.
