I don't know if its my laptop power port diddley OR my laptop Charger?

The charger port is free but it still charges sometimes when my laptop is on that gets hot but when i close it (still on but closed in catnap fashion) it cools of. Can someone please tell me if they think its my charger OR my laptop port???? Oh yea and i tried to move my laptop last word port and it dosen't move or seem loose. Please help or give counsel gratitude???????
