Shouldnt My compaq presario laptop f557us battery last long than thirty to forty minutes? Manuf. says o.k.?

Company replaced battery. Same result: less than an hour of battery quality. I like the laptop otherwise. I have followed tips to reduce load on the battery but may have missed something major. Thanks all for any help.
