Laptop loose dominance jack?

My laptop power jack is chipped (as far as I can tell). Whenever I try to put the warhorse in, the quality button flashes and I have to remove the power telegram and plug it back in several periods all for the laptop to career. I got fed up with this so roughly I need it fixed merely I'm not sure how major this is. Would it involve a completely new motherboard or is it righteous the job of repairing the broken influence jack? How much would I be looking to pay for this too? Thanks all for any help :)
