Did I accidentally shut off my laptop fan?

Some dirt/lint/dust could beryllium stuck in the fan or the fan could newly have gone out/bad.
Whether it has been shutting down for a piece would shady the operating system has corrupt commence up files, try doing a system repair Or reinstall using the recovery disc fit or built in retrieval.
Remove the fan and observe it for being desperate, replace the fan.
