Laptop battery indicator?

Yeah truthful it turns out my battery is screwed up for keeping the adapter within evermore. So I proven treating it the right way by waiting for it to die and then charge it support . The bother is the only indicator showing my mobile power is on the tray and it never shows the actual percent (all it ever shows is 2-3% and 100%). Anyone have another idea where there could be another indicator for battery power(not ac power). What makes this even more frustrating is my ac cord is broken and a single twitching could make it disconnect.
