The fan doesn't cost much but putting it in could fulfil, depending on how old it is contact the place you brought it from, or a good computer repair shop. there could be a number of fans inside it and patch they have the case off it might be a good content to get them all changed.
Dont leave it to long if your laptop over heats it could cause serious damage but most new ones should righteous shut down, befor any thing happens. you can find external fans for laptops you just put it under you acer and it helps to keep it cool, (not a lot of money) but that doesnt remedy the hold-up.
