Only two things move in a computer. The fan and the hard drive. See where the noise is coming from.? Purchase several canned air and bash it in where the fan vents are. How old is the lap top ? If it's a duo of years old, the hard drive could be going bad.
EDIT : oh, yeah, the DVD / CD drive. Could that be it ? Does the noise start and stop right away ?
