how to show your video screen on your laptop/computer?

I have an HDMI cablegram and i can easy use my tv As a monitor basically. But can i party it the other way around? I privation my tv screen to be shown on my laptop. I want to record xbox gameplay but i have zilch to do it with. I have a sctreen recording program on my laptop though. Hence i want my tv screen to be shown on my laptop to record gameplay. It is the only opening. Can I?
