Dell m1710 long term fix by Reballing Nvidia 7900 onboard GPU, it had blank blind from Overheated gpu chipset, replacing the graphic Chipset solder joints to receive it last a lot longer and revive the laptop to fully operational. the joints have been converted to Lead Solder balls or else of the lead-free which has reliability issues, the common gpu failure occurs from de trop heat stress over 12 months of use Or more. more common in hp laptops such as the dv2000 and dv9000. unlike desktops, laptops can not have their graphics replaced or changed without pricey equipments and the right skills and knowledge in the fine art of BGA rework. Just the best computer engineers who reached rise everest in PCB repairs which are very few in the world can carry out this repair, you faculty need a BGA rework stations and few years of experience and noesis to carry this out perfectly so don't execute try this at home, provided you human a GPU problem ask your repair shop if they get out BGA rework whether reballing with more than 3 months warranty.
