Fritter an Xbox 360 controller with a laptop through the USB Charger?

I poverty to play games on my laptop using my xbox controller. I plugged it in and vista found, downloaded and installed the drivers but it does not work. The xbox key just flashes once i go around it on, the charger is working the red light is on.
